Fr. Miguel La Font SJ is a Spanish Jesuit, who is currently the director of the Jesuit Spirituality Center at Nagatsuka, in the city of Hiroshima. He joined the Society of Jesus in 1947, arrived in Japan as a Missionary in 1957, and was ordained a priest in 1963 at Tokyo. He received training under the direct supervision of the late Fr. Tony De Mello SJ, and in this connection he traveled to India three times to attend the Sadhana Courses of 3 and 6 months, under Fr. De Mello's personal guidance. Fr. Lafont has been guiding and directing Sadhana Retreats in Japan for almost 30 years, and he also directs meditations using the techniques of VIPASSANA, as part of his meditation courses. He has participated several times in the ten-day VIPASSANA meditation sessions under the renowned Master Goenka, both in India and Japan.
